This morning at LNES our third graders hosted their grandparents at the yearly Grandparent breakfast. Little did we know that two people would be together again after almost 70 years of seeing each other and being in the same elementary classroom when they were 11 years old!! The question was asked by a grandson to his grandfather, "Who was your favorite teacher?" His grandfather's response was Mrs. Queer. Someone heard this response and asked another grandparent who was sitting nearby about her favorite teacher who was also Mrs. Queer. Long story short, they realized that they had been classmates long ago in Hellertown in Mrs. May Queer's class. They hugged and hugged and hugged each other! Isn't it amazing how life can bring us all together for moments that we cannot plan or predict! Kudos to our third-grade teachers, PTA volunteers and our fantastic third-grade students for providing a fun-filled morning and creating life-long memories for so many people!

LNES Memorial Day Program remembering those that gave their all and thanking those that served or are serving in our Armed Forces.

TOGETHER WE CAN CHANGE THE WORLD!

Mrs. Brodhead's Kindergarten Class learns and grows together. We are kind, caring, and supportive of each other! Together our class created ways in which kids can help change the world. As a group project students created this iMovie! Great Job, Kindergarten Kids!

June 14 Flag Day

"American Flag"

by Erin Ryan

Red and white with thirteen stripes, Reminds us of our past;

The colonies so long ago, Some thought they'd never last.

And then the stars, although they've changed, For the states, both old and new,

On a field of blue they're fifty strong, A home for me and you.

So wave your flag, And show your pride and never let it fall;

And remember why we pledge each day with liberty and justice for all.

Happy Father's Day!

Celebrate on Sunday, June 17th!

The NASD IT Department will be performing maintenance on the server and network infrastructure starting at 8 AM on Friday, August 3rd. During this maintenance period, the following services will not be available: Internal network access (wireless, hardwired, Internet and VPN), mapped network drives, PowerSchool, email, Schoology, Destiny, Scholastic Apps, My Learning Plan, Google and Google Apps.

If all goes well, services should be restored by 6 PM Friday night. However, given the amount of work that needs to be done, the outage could run into Saturday. Either way, we will post status updates during the outage, so please check back throughout the day at this link.

Meet the K-3 Technology Integration Specialist

Hello, I'm Shawn-Kimberly Kocher.  I'm the K-3 Technology Integration Specialist for Shafer, Lower Nazareth and Butz Elementary Schools.  This is my 31st year in education; and 16th year as a technology integration specialist.  I work with students, teachers, and administration to help with technology integration in the classroom.  I also help parents with their accounts and questions about technology at home and on their personal devices.

Email is the best way to contact me since I do travel between three school buildings.  When Emailing me, please note which building your child attends and their full name.  It will help me in looking up information or verifying your information to communicate with you through Email or phone call.

The picture on the right is one of my best friends, Whittle.  She is three years old and loves to play! She brings a lot of joy where ever she goes!

Please let me know how I can assist you by Emailing me at skocher@nazarethasd.org!

The final Summer Library Program was a visit from author, Erika Liodice, and four of her racing pigeons!  It was a beautiful day for a pigeon race!  Marshmallow, named by the children attending this summer library program, won the race by being the first one back home from Nazareth to Allentown!

MARSHMALLOW IS THE WINNER!
